Paris Hilton arrested on DUI suspicion
POSTED: 12:33 a.m. EDT, September 8, 2006
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) --
Celebrity Paris Hilton was arrested on suspicion of driving under the
influence early Thursday after "driving erratically" and failing a field
sobriety test, police said.
She was pulled over in Hollywood about
12:30 a.m.
"She exhibited the symptoms of
intoxication," LAPD spokesman Irv Isabella said, reading from a written
statement.
The DUI charge would be a misdemeanor.
Hilton has been released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to
appear in court at the end of the month, at which time she will learn if
she will be charged.
Elliot Mintz, Hilton's publicist, said
Hilton was not intoxicated. He said she had "had one drink" and hadn't
eaten all day, and the field sobriety test showed "the very absolute
lowest reading you can possibly get to warrant being taken in."
He added that she had been up late
working on a music video, in the second day of shooting.
"Of course these matters are never to be
taken lightly," said Mintz, who noted that it is "unfortunate she was
behind the wheel of a car even with one drink."
"It's her first offense and hopefully it
will never happen again."
Mintz said sister Nicky Hilton and
Nicky's boyfriend, actor Kevin Connolly of TV's "Entourage," picked Paris
up at the police station in Hollywood, according to The Associated Press.
In June, Hilton had a fender-bender
accident when her Range Rover backed into a car in a parking garage after
a shopping trip, AP reported.

Hotel heiress and
socialite Paris Hilton was inseparable from her new boy-toy, Greek
shipping heir Stavros Niarchos III at Blender magazine's "Rock 'n' Roll
Hollywood" bash in the Hollywood Hills the other night - until Hilton
decided to plant a good night kiss on *NSYNC-er JC Chasez reports Pagesix.
Last week, People
Magazine reported that the Simple Life has been making the LA club rounds
with Mary-Kate Olsen's ex.
Also in attendance, was
Paris's ex-pal Nicole Richie. As soon as Nicole Richie arrived Hilton
dashed. Richie spent most of the night chatting with Lindsay Lohan. Others
there included Sergio Mora from "The Contender," Serena Williams and Mike
Tyson.

Paris Hilton Cheated by Paris Latsis
Paris Hilton has revealed that the real reason she called off the
engagement was because her fiancée Paris Latsis has cheated on her during
his bachelor party.
Last week, Paris, 24, broke up with her fiancée Latsis after only five
months of dating, claiming she feels she's not ready to marry.
Hilton stated at the time: "I'm sad to announce that I've called off my
engagement. Over the last couple of months I've realized that this is the
right decision for me. We remain best of friends, and I'll always love
him. I hope people will respect my privacy during this emotional time."
But, according to close friends, the heiress of Hilton empire revealed
during a party in Los Angeles that Latsis has had an affair with another
woman.
When asked by America's Extra TV reporter to give some advices to a man
who wants to get married, Paris said: "Be good to your girl, communicate
and tell the truth. And don't cheat on her at your bachelor party."
Hilton also denied having a romantic relationship with Mary-Kate Olsen's
ex-boyfriend, millionaire Stavros Niarchos III. "I'm single and loving
it."
Paris
& Paris' Engaged Life

Latsis, a Greek shipping heir, popped the question to his hotel
heiress sweetie last Wednesday after she returned from a three-week
publicity tour for her thriller, House of Wax, and her fragrance line,
People.com reported.
The proposal reportedly came complete with a selection of 15
different rings from jewelers such as Tiffany and Harry Winston,
including one 15-carat rock, according to Us Weekly. No word on which
sparkler Hilton ultimately picked to adorn her finger.
To celebrate their engagement, Paris Squared threw a weekend
barbeque at their Hollywood Hills home for 75 friends and family.
As of yet, no wedding date has been set. It will be the first trip
down the aisle for both Parises, who refer to each other as "Princess"
(Latsis' nickname for Hilton) and "Babaluna" (vice versa).
Hilton has made no secret of her affection for Latsis in recent
months.
"I'm so in love and grateful to have found such an honest and loyal
person," the heiress crowed to Us Weekly. "I feel like we were meant
to be, and I'm happy to have found someone to spend the rest of my
life with."
Meanwhile, Latsis told the magazine that Hilton is "the most
beautiful woman I've ever met" and said he feels like "the luckiest
man in the world."
Despite her inclination to settle down, Hilton is still showing no
sign of slowing down. The celebutante has said her next big project
will involve reproduction.
"I want to have kids in the next two years, because I know that
completes your life," she told People earlier this month.
The Simple Life star is apparently interested in keeping her family
life complicated--she has said she intends to name her daughter Paris,
while her son may be dubbed London.
There's certainly no doubt the couple will be able to afford life
in the lap of luxury.
Earlier this month, Hilton revealed that she rakes in up to
$200,000 for a 20-minute appearance at a party (more if it's in
Japan), while Forbes magazine recently ranked the Latsis family number
54 on its list of the world's richest people.
