Paris Hilton was born February 17, 1981, to Rick and Kathy Hilton, making her the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, founder of the Hilton hotels and source of the family fortune -- estimated at $300 million. Her grandfather, Conrad "Nicky" Hilton, Jr., also brought some notoriety to the family, as he was the first of Elizabeth Taylor's many ex-husbands. Paris' younger sister, Nicky (born in 1983), shares the throne as co-heiress of the Hilton empire.

Paris and Nicky Hilton are known as the "Hilton Heiresses". The two are heirs to the enormous Hilton hotel chain. Paris even has a hotel name after her in Las Vegas, The Paris Hotel. They are the great-granddaughters of hotel magnate Conrad Hilton. Their father, Rick Hilton is the grandson of Hilton hotel-chain founder Conrad Hilton. And their mother, Kathy Richards Hilton is the former child actor who was a regular on Family Affair. At their early 20's and have already created a name for themselves as the party hopping socialite. Paris, an occasional model, has had a few small film roles. In 2003, Paris co-starred with Nicole Richie in a "reality" show called The Simple Life. The Simple Life is a take-off on the 1960's sitcom Green Acres. Nicky Hilton is the younger sister of Paris. She is named after her granduncle Nicholas Conrad "Nicky" Hilton, Jr., who was married to actree Elizabeth Taylor and son of Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton. Like old sister Paris, Nicky is known for her jetset party-girl lifestyle. Nicky is a starting designer. She has a clothing line named after her childhood nickname, Chick, and also has designed handbags. She also has made a few appearances in some films.
